Higgs Boson Health (HBH), a leading digital health company empowering all people undergoing acute interventional or surgical procedures to live healthier lives, announced today that use of Manage My Surgery (MMS) across a broad, real-world population resulted in early positive outcomes.
This first pilot study (MMSGI-1) conducted at the University of Virginia (UVA) Medical Center reported that people undergoing colonoscopies who participated in the MMS program reported a 67% decrease in no-shows and late cancellations and a 27% decrease in inadequate prep. The 215-patient study also compared patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes for MMS users (n = 102) with non-MMS users (n = 113). Of those providing feedback, more than 97% of MMS users found the information they received helpful and 94% would recommend it to family and friends.
Manage My Surgery drives behavior change by creating a personalized experience with data-driven, real-time insights. “Colonoscopies are one of the most common invasive procedures done in the United States. These new findings demonstrate improved prep quality for patients and reduced costs for hospitals,” said Dr. Ziad Gellad, Chief Medical Officer for Higgs Boson Health.
